• Who is the creator of in My Absence?
  Hello, my name is Vernon Bartee Sr. I am the creator and founder of In My Absence.org
  
  
• What is this app?
  In My Absence is an app that connects people who are present, with people that are absent.
  
  
• What does this app do?
  In My Absence allows you to record video messages for different occasions, to be sent to friends and family. Once recorded it saves your video to the application, with the option to view or distribute it to others.
  
  
• How did you come up with the idea?
  On my late Mother's Birthday, I found myself reminiscent of the things we did together. I also found myself thinking of the things we had yet to do together. I find that there are many people who are in the same position. This idea was born through those feelings.
  
  
• How did You come up with the name and what is the meaning behind it?
  I had several names before this one. This name stuck out to me the most, due to its coverage. My application is for friends and family who aren't there. Whether it be by death, work location, or simply moving away. The ability to touch these bases with the name as well, means very much to me.
  
  
• Why do you think this App is necessary?
  This application is necessary because there's always someone who is missed, or something to be missed. This application eases the pain of each situation. It captures and shares recorded messages of the occasions that were missed. It also captures the recorded messages of the person who is missed.
  
  
• What is Who I am?
  Who I am is a way to tell your family's history. It's a way to tell your history. Giving the next generation a greater understanding of their existence.
  
  
• What effect do I think that this app will have on the user?
  This app may bring some comfort, to the giver, in knowing that they can still be seen and heard on those special occasions. It may also ease the pain of the recipient.
  
  
• Who is the target audience?
  This app is for everyone that want to keep private their personal messages. This app is for that forgetful person who's always forgetting special occasions. Lastly this app is for that person who is having a hard time of letting go of those who have moved on.
  
  
• Is there anything like this app, and what makes this app different?
  I would like to say no, however, that may not be true. There are many other ways that this concept has been done. However, none of them have the content or the functionality and execution of this app. Other apps are shared publicly, while this app has a more personal touch. Being viewed only by the people you choose.
  
  
• What do you hope that this app accomplishes?
  What I hope that this app does is bring a sense of comfort and peace to everyone that it touches. To know that whoever chooses to use it loved someone enough to make sure that they were thought of, cared for and loved. And as it does this, people will know the love I have for my mother, and the love she gave to me.
  
  
• How do you use this app?
  
  1. Visit the website, and sign up. Then sign in.
  2. Record your short video message (30 seconds or less) on your phone, laptop, or PC webcam
  3. Go to the Send a Message page.
  4. Select a Topic or Occasion for your message
  5. Select the recipient from your app contact list, or click Manage Contacts to add a new recipient.
  6. Select the date that you want the app to send the video link.
  7. Select how often you want the video link to be sent to the recipient (one time, once a month, or same day every year).
  8. Select your video message to upload to the app
  9. Click Upload & Send Video to start the process. An on-screen notification will let you know that you were successful.
  10. Notifications will be sent to you every time that a video is sent, received, and viewed.
  11. Visit the Notifications page to see all recent notifications.
  12. You can control when and how notifications are sent to you on the Manage Account page.
  13. You can add and delete contacts, and create groups, on the Contacts page.
  14. You can view and manage your sent messages on the Messages page.
